Welcoming Mrs. Cindi Gibbs-Wilborn and New Governing Board Members

Dear Beauvoir Community,
On behalf of the Governing Board, I am delighted to welcome Mrs. Cindi Gibbs-Wilborn as she officially begins her tenure as Beauvoir’s sixth Head of School.
As many of you know from the search process, Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn brings a wealth of experience as a highly respected head of school, administrative leader, and teacher in independent schools. She is widely known for her strategic thinking, educational philosophy, collaborative style, and warm spirit. As a familiar face to Beauvoir, she truly embraces the school’s mission, Life Rules, and its unique connection to the Cathedral Close. I am confident that under Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn’s leadership, Beauvoir will continue to thrive as one of the top early childhood programs in the country.

I am also pleased to announce that our Governing Board will be joined by four new members this fall. They include:
  • Kelvin Coleman (P’12, P’18)
  • Kris McBrady (P’17, P’18, P’21)
  • Fernanda Montano (P’17, P’18, P’21)
  • Fred Underwood (P’18, P’20)
These new members were approved by the Governing Board and then the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation at the end of June to serve for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2018. They bring leadership experience, expertise across a variety of fields, and deep knowledge to this work. They are honored to serve Beauvoir and I am grateful for their commitment. Please read the biographies of the new Governing Board members here.
I would also like to thank our Board members who departed at the end of this year – Laura DeBonis, Charis Drant, Enu Mainigi, and Ashley Shaw. I’m grateful for their extraordinary work and their dedication to the Beauvoir community.
We are so very pleased to welcome Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn and her family to Beauvoir, and introduce our newest members of the Governing Board. Together, we reaffirm our deep commitment to young children and the pursuit of excellence in their education.
Yours sincerely,
Rhonda Schmidtlein
Chair, Beauvoir Governing Board
