Morning Message for January 17

Dear Students,

We are almost at the end of another week? It is amazing how quickly it went by. What was your favorite part of the week? I loved opening up the front doors for you in the morning. Your smiles make my day!

Today I am going to share a photo of a beautiful house on the Cathedral grounds. Someone very special to Beauvoir lives there. I am going to give you a few clues to see if you can problem solve.

1)This person is a good friend of Beauvoir and sometimes speaks at our Chapel services.

2)This person’s last name has three syllables.

3)This person has a dog who often travels to work with him. The dog’s name is Lady.

If you guessed our friend, Dean Hollerith, you were right! In 2018, Dean Hollerith and his wife moved into the Sayre House, the original residence of Dean Sayre, the sixth Dean of the Washington National Cathedral. It was constructed in 1953, but only two Deans have lived there.

Have a great day,

Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn
