Morning Message for January 28

Dear Students,

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend. In five days we will enter a new month. Do you know what month that will be? Can you tell how many months we have been in school so far? How many more months do we have left until summer?

This week I am going to name it “Heroes Week” and introduce some people to you who you may be learning about for the first time. Each of these heroes have one thing in common. They are children just like you!

Read  their stories each day and see if you can figure out why they were named as heroes. What do you think makes a hero?

Love, Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn

Monday’s Child Hero:

Ryan Hreljac

mm 1.28.19

When Ryan Hreljac was six-years old, his first grade teacher shared with him that there were some families in various regions of Africa that needed clean water for their families to stay healthy. Inspired to help, Ryan saved $70 of his own money after four months, and then began to ask other friends and organizations to help. Ryan’s Well Foundation was launched, with his first well completed for the Angolo Primary School in Uganda. Twenty-one years later, Ryan’s Well Foundation remains strong!
