On Dec. 23, 1919, inventor Alice Parker patented a design for the gas furnace that you are looking at. Her design helped to provide heating for millions of homes without the use of a wood burning furnace, making home heating safer for all. The next time you are in a building and see a gas furnace, I hope you think of this creative inventor!
