Morning Message for October 28

Dear Students,

Welcome back from what I hope was a restful weekend filled with love and light. Yesterday, some of your Beauvoir friends celebrated a special holiday with their families and loved ones. Each year, Hindu families celebrate the holiday, Diwali, a five-day festival of lights that takes place in the fall or spring, depending on where you live in the world. During this holiday, our Hindu friends celebrate new beginnings, goodness, and light.  Families can also celebrate by sharing sweets and gifts and giving food and donations to those in need. Homes are often cleaned, and new clothes are worn during the festival to celebrate the new year. If you want to wish someone a Happy Diwali, you can say SHUBH DEEPAVALI, or simply Happy Diwali.

I hope your day is as bright as the Diwali lights!

Love,
Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn
