Did you know that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once walked the very same steps you take to visit our Cathedral? This is true! His very last sermon before he died was delivered in our beautiful Washington National Cathedral on March 31, 1968. Before the service, Dr. King gathered in Beauvoir’s own Taylor Hall to meet with our former bishop, Bishop John T. Walker, the news crews and media teams. I wonder what he thought when he visited Beauvoir? Do you think he noticed anything special about our school? Look at the photo below of Dr. King and Bishop Walker and see if you can tell where they were taken. What clues did you use to figure this out?
Love, Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn
