Happy Thursday and Happy Ramadan to our Muslim friends who will join their families in observing this religious holiday tonight. Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic Calendar, which is based on the lunar (or moon) calendar. This is why the holiday is celebrated on a different day each year. During this holiday, adult Muslims fast, or do not drink or eat from dusk until dawn. During this time, families focus on being together with family, giving back to others, and reflect. At the end of Ramadan, Muslims may go to their mosques for prayers, give charity to the needy, exchange gifts, or celebrate with family. We hope you enjoy this sacred time with your loved ones!
Love, Mrs. Gibbs-Wilborn
If you were to join our Muslim friends in thinking about and praying for others this evening, what would you pray for?
